Award Winning 45 person Architectural Firm in Neptune, NJ is seeking Architectural Designers (B.Arch. preferred) with 4+ years of experience to work on medium to large scale retail, commercial and educational projects.

• Design innovative architectural concepts in direct response to unique user and programmatic contexts through the integration of leading-edge planning, engineering, interiors, and other required systems. Define and develop functional and spatial requirements of new structures or renovations, and prepare information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.

• Responsible for the coordination of the project design and project team.

• Prepare and review design documents, construction documents, shop drawings, and materials for compliance with design intent and program requirements

• Develop design drawings, such as plans, sections, elevations and models using hand drawings as well as advanced CAD and 3D software. (Proficiency in REVIT a plus)

• Solve complex problems in connection with the architectural design of projects through the integration of building simulation and research to optimize building performance.

• Assist in development of local office standards, policies, and procedures.

• Confer with clients, consultants, contractors, and others during various stages of project development.

• Guide and encourage the development of other staff

PROJECT ARCHITECT

compensation: Commensurate with Experience

Candidate’s responsibilities:

• Document existing conditions through photos, field measurements, and notes in order to produce an existing conditions model in Revit. Part of documenting existing conditions will include taking 360 degree camera photos and translating into a Revit model.
• Prepare reports and basis of design exhibits based on documentation of existing conditions.
• Follow client guidelines for preparation of documents and reports in order to provide the client a consistent deliverable.
• Prepare code summaries based on jurisdictional requirements of project location.
• Using the existing conditions Revit model as a base, implement client initiatives and renovation scope of work into construction documents. Candidate should be able to produce a set of construction documents with limited oversight.
• Coordinate with project team including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and refrigeration engineers to ensure quality of construction documents.
• Research and review requirements of various jurisdictions to ensure deliverables meet jurisdictional requirements and expectations in order to obtain a building permit.
• Construction administration, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, coordination with General Contractor and Owner, etc.

Candidate’s qualifications:

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is a must. Strong Knowledge of Autodesk ReCap, 3DMax, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Sketchup is preferred.
• Professionally accredited degree in Architecture
• Knowledge of building codes, building renovations, permitting processes & construction document production is strongly preferred
• Licensed or registered Architect is a plus
• Strong written and oral communication skills
