WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • We are seeking a Project Architect with the following qualifications:
  • 7-15 years of professional experience in architecture with at least 5 years in healthcare design.
  • Proficiency in Revit and BIM360/Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Registered Architect.
  • Expertise in healthcare design with focus on ADA and FGI.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to travel to U.S. locations

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

  • Working closely with the Director of Business Development to prepare RFP’s, RFQ’s, and design studies for potential clients.
  • Financial oversight of your own projects, including schedules and budgets.
  • Representing MMA in a leadership role at client and project meetings.
  • Opportunity to lead, coach, and mentor team members.
  • Producing design and construction documents, specifications, and detail drawings.
  • Coordinating and communicating effectively with clients, consultants, and engineers.
  • Establishing client relations and participating in marketing efforts.
  • Managing a team of production staff.
  • Researching building codes and zoning requirements.
  • Overseeing building department reviews and approvals.
  • Performing construction administration services.
  • Reviewing drawings and specifications for quality control and assurance.

  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Document existing conditions through photos, field measurements, and notes in order to produce an existing conditions model in Revit. Part of documenting existing conditions will include taking 360 degree camera photos and translating into a Revit model.
  • Prepare reports and basis of design exhibits based on documentation of existing conditions.
  • Follow client guidelines for preparation of documents and reports in order to provide the client a consistent deliverable.
  • Prepare code summaries based on jurisdictional requirements of project location.
  • Using the existing conditions Revit model as a base, implement client initiatives and renovation scope of work into construction documents. Candidate should be able to produce a set of construction documents with limited oversight.
  • Coordinate with project team including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and refrigeration engineers to ensure quality of construction documents.
  • Research and review requirements of various jurisdictions to ensure deliverables meet jurisdictional requirements and expectations in order to obtain a building permit.
  • Construction administration, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, coordination with General Contractor and Owner, etc.

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is a must. Strong Knowledge of Autodesk ReCap, 3DMax, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Sketchup is preferred.
  • Architectural Bachelor’s degree preferred with a Minimum 5 years of experience OR Equivalent combination of academic and professional experience. Licensed or registered Architect and LEED professional is a plus.
  • Knowledge of building codes, building renovations, permitting processes & construction document production is strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skill
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage workloads to meet deadlines
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

During his tenure at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and after earning his Bachelor of Architecture, Tom has spent close to Thirty Years in planning, design, construction and contract administration for a wide range of large and small-scale projects. He joined the company in early 1997 and as one of MMA’s Principals, he has been responsible for overseeing the growth and success of the educational design studio for the last two decades. His responsibilities include contract generation, establishing budgets for hard and soft costs, design consultant coordination, and overseeing construction administration and project close-out. Tom attributes his success to his attention to detail, and his ability to work effectively with all stakeholders.
