During construction, MMA serves as your advocate to interpret the construction drawings, answer questions and work out details as necessary. Having on-site administrators is crucial to ensure everything goes according to the architectural master plan and to solve any discrepancies that may arise during the construction or demolition process.

MMA has recently oversaw the construction of the very popular Asbury Park Boardwalk restaurant, The Iron Whale, in addition to the exterior bandshell and stadium seating/ stage on the rooftop venue of the 5th Ave Pavilion. This great project is a fantastic example of MMA’s diligent administrative and oversight process. Another project in current construction is Deal Lake Bar + CO, an exciting new industrial-inspired bar and restaurant. THOMAS P. MCHUGH

Principal

RA, AIA, NCARB

During his tenure at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and after earning his Bachelor of Architecture, Tom has spent close to Thirty Years in planning, design, construction and contract administration for a wide range of large and small-scale projects. He joined the company in early 1997 and as one of MMA’s Principals, he has been responsible for overseeing the growth and success of the educational design studio for the last two decades. His responsibilities include contract generation, establishing budgets for hard and soft costs, design consultant coordination, and overseeing construction administration and project close-out. Tom attributes his success to his attention to detail, and his ability to work effectively with all stakeholders.
