Shark River, located closest to Neptune Township and Asbury Park, is a quaint Riverside Community in Monmouth County, NJ. As of the 2010 United States census, there were 3,697 people, 1,511 households, and 1,065 families residing in the surrounding area.

“A Healthy Place to Raise Children Amidst the Fresh Air and Pines” was the slogan for Shark River Hills when it opened as a summer resort in 1923, the same can be said for this community today. Nestled in a hilly peninsula overlooking 3 and a half miles of the scenic waterfront “The Hills” as it is popularly known, offers the familiarity of small-town life within an hour’s commute of New York City.

With the Shark River Golf Course in its backyard and the Shark River Marina and Yacht Club at its waterline, Shark River Hills is an outdoor paradise. Bathing, fishing, crabbing, boating, and birding are all locally available, as well as many parks and a nature trail which the community’s highlights historic, environmental, and scenic stops.

THOMAS P. MCHUGH

During his tenure at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and after earning his Bachelor of Architecture, Tom has spent close to Thirty Years in planning, design, construction and contract administration for a wide range of large and small-scale projects. He joined the company in early 1997 and as one of MMA’s Principals, he has been responsible for overseeing the growth and success of the educational design studio for the last two decades. His responsibilities include contract generation, establishing budgets for hard and soft costs, design consultant coordination, and overseeing construction administration and project close-out. Tom attributes his success to his attention to detail, and his ability to work effectively with all stakeholders.
